Solving Decision-Making Problems Using a Measure for Information Values Connected to the Equilibrium Points (IVEP) MCDM Method and Zakeri–Konstantas Performance Correlation Coefficient

In this paper, a new multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) method, called measure for information values connected to the equilibrium points (IVEP) and statistical measuring similarities of performances MCDM algorithm outputs in comparison process, Zakeri–Konstantas performance correlation coefficient, are introduced. The IVEP method uses Shannon’s entropy as primary tool embedded decision matrix order evaluate decision’s options/alternatives complex problems with large number criteria alternatives. second concept that drives is points, which signify vector space where scores equilibrated. Instead using linear functions compute between data sets generated by algorithms calculation distance different methods, coefficient focuses on evaluation ranking methods an analytic process determine degree similarities. applied real-world problem—a material selection problem. A analysis was performed results obtained from IVEP, TOPSIS, WPM, COPRAS, ARAS Hamming distance. both measures revealed algorithm’s have highest similarity TOPSIS outputs, among others. Nevertheless, distinct due approaches used.
